Big (We Mean Big!) Data Aggregation
AppFirst collects millions of performance metrics per server per day. That's already big data all by itself. Then we add data from your log files, Nagios plug-ins, Windows Performance Counters, StatsD, and more... which means we’re now talking super big data. Never fear! We’ve architected a backend that can aggregate all that raw data for you (no server processing required on your end), summarize it, and present it to you in a beautiful dashboard.
Three-Tiered Aggregation
We aggregate your data in three separate time intervals: minute-by-minute, hourly and daily. On a minute-by-minute basis, we aggregate raw data from our collectors to provide the most up-to-date, detailed view of what's going on with your systems, enabling you to drill down to the exact minute when an issue occurred. These minute-by-minute summaries are then rolled up into hourly and daily summaries, which makes it easier to see trends. With AppFirst, you get the best of both worlds -- granular views of your data over short time periods and broad views over extended periods of time.
NoSQL Delivers Scale, Speed, & Security
We've implemented a powerful architecture to provide state-of-the-art scalability, speed, and security. Our NoSQL storage system relies on Hadoop, HBase, and Memcached to process, aggregate, and retrieve all of your data at blazing fast speeds, while providing the security you expect.
Our API Puts Your Data Where You Want It
Our web application platform exports a very complete set of REST APIs so that you can get your data where you want it. If you want to feed aggregated data into your own UI or tools, simply use our API! In fact, all of the data available on our UIs is also available to you through APIs. And all of the code for our beautiful new dashboard is open source -- a great starting point if you want to build your own UIs or extend your existing capabilities.
